ROBERT E. PACKUS, JR.
ROBERT E. PACKUS, JR. is a partner with the firm and originally joined the firm in 1997.
He is a graduate of Wayne State University with a degree in political science. He attended Detroit College
of Law (now Michigan State University College of Law) where he graduated cum laude and was a member of Law Review. While in law school he received the American Jurisprudence Award in Contracts, Evidence and Decedentís Estates and the Michigan Consolidated Gas Award of Academic Achievement and taught Research, Writing and Advocacy.
Since 1993, Mr. Packus has successfully defended clients in general civil litigation involving construction defect, product liability, automobile negligence, trucking liability, premise liability and employment law. He has successfully defended a number of wrongful death explosion cases involving natural gas, propane gas and fireworks. Mr. Packus has prevailed in several cases before the Michigan Court of Appeals, the Michigan Supreme Court and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Mr. Packus is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. He is also a member of the Defense Research Institute and the Oakland County Bar Association.
